How far along? 12 Weeks / 1 day

How big is baby? From crown to rump, baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Total weight gain/loss: 108.4 / still only “officially” up about 2 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yes. Feeling much more excited to show off the bump even though it’s still ‘early’

Sleep: Sleeping OK, not great, but primarily because I’ve been in Boston the past two nights

Best moment this week: Our best moment LAST week was finding out that we are having a GIRL. Read about it in the last entry :)

Worst moment this week: Nothing too bad, actually. I did have a really low blood sugar moment in between moderating focus groups yesterday, but quickly solved that by eating 6 chocolates. In general, feeling so much better.

Movement: Nope, not expecting that for several weeks (I think I ‘felt’ Joaquin around 20 weeks?)

Food Cravings: STILL SANDWICHES - all.the.time Loving EGGS as well. MMM EGGS.

Food Aversions: Still weirded out by certain lettuce items, but so much better in general about aversions.

Gender: IT’S A GIRL!!!!!

Labor Signs: NOOOOOOO!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Emotional, bloated, gassy; but so much better than before (more regular too! Yay!)

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Peeing at regular intervals vs. a million times a day / night

What I am looking forward to: telling family & friends that are coming to visit in the next few weeks

Upcoming appointments/events:
SF (4/1)
Heather & family in town April 5th-7th
Gigi’s wedding weekend April 10th-12th

April 14th is our next doc visit.

Milestones (BabyCenter):
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby’s fingers will soon begin to open and close, her toes will curl, her eye muscles will clench, and her mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won’t be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and her kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby’s brain, synapses are forming furiously. Her face looks unquestionably human: Her eyes have moved from the sides to the front of her head, and her ears are right where they should be.

Current favorite GIRL names: Orion, Lily, Amaya
I love Orion Sky, but Aaron’s still out on the middle name; we both love Orion at the moment
