Cold in Just the ordinary things

Still chilly out there this morning, and I did not want to get up today. Did make my appointment with my psychiatrist today, so that's taken care of for the month. I have also made fruitcake -- chock full of pecans, cherries, papaya, pineapple, dates, cranberries and heaven knows what else. Yes, it is from the King Arthur Flour folks, and makes two standard sized cakes. What I love about these is that they are a light cake, and no alcohol and NO NASTY GREEN BITS. I have never cared for the dark sort of fruitcake, and those green candied fruits were the most vile sort of thing. Just ick.

I have some sockeye salmon waiting for my supper, and I want some tea. Then I can settle in with a book or two. Bouncing between Hannah Kent's Burial Rites, and Lark Rise to Candleford. I also have a new biography on Dowager Empress Cixi as well.

Oh and we spotted a little ginger kitten at the vets today -- it (we don't know the gender) needs a forever home. J has a real weakness for those little orange kittens, and he was so tempted. But we have also agreed to wait until Mu passes before making another addition to our feline tribe. Mu is just too old to have that much of an upheaval in his life, poor guy.

And that is about all for right now.

Oh how do I add a photo to that circle thingy?
