Make-over in Earth and Sky

Decided that it was time for a change in terms of how my Prosebox was dressed. I know y’all can’t see it, but I had the grey-slated version before and now I’m going with the “bright and cheery” version. Bright blues and reds and colors intended to reflect my new-found zest for life. Plus the font is wicked cute.

I’m so glad it’s the weekend. The great thing about this new job is that I never dread going, but it’s exhausting! From the second I walked behind the desk yesterday I was slammed with paperwork and phone calls until around 8:30. I work 2:30-10:30 now, so I used those last two hours to prep my return after the weekend. The unit is without a secretary on Saturday’s and Sunday’s so when I come in after a weekend it’s complete and utter chaos. I feel so bad for the day-shift secretary… she definitely has it worse than I do.

Yesterday was nice. I did a small, intimate ritual for Ostara and planted my intentions fore the spring and burned away the parts of myself that I no longer need. I bathed in sage and said I prayer to the Gods asking for their guidance. I left an offering on the altar that will remain until Beltane, when I will bury it beneath my garden in the back yard. It felt really good to get back into the Temple, and it definitely set the tone for the rest of my day.

I also got an unexpected, but much appreciated text message yesterday that absolutely lifted my spirits. It was kind and productive, and definitely helped confirm that the decisions I’ve made recently have been the right ones. This was a hard week, but it was all worth it because I can already feel myself healing and moving forward. I’m very blessed.

This weekend is going to be busy, but I’m looking forward to it. Tim and I are leaving in a little while to head to his parent’s house. He called them yesterday to tell them I was pregnant (they’re not really the type to get excited over that kind of thing.) and they invited us over for a visit today. After that we’re going to take a trip to Wal-Mart so I can pick up some new underwear and some ingredients for dinner tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning, Tim, Josh and I are headed to NoHo to pick up some tea and have lunch. Tomorrow is ALSO my best friend’s birthday! Her name is also Chelsey and she’ll be 25 tomorrow. I’m hoping that while we’re in Noho I can find a nice gift for her. I’m going to make her a spiral honey ham dinner with mashed potatoes and corn. :]

So that’s it for me! I hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend. It’s snowing here on the first official day of Spring… I hope it’s sunny where everyone else is!
