The Big 4-0 in In the Meadow

Today is my fortieth birthday. I have to say that I don’t feel any different than I did when I was thirty-nine. Although I don’t think I’ve ever felt different on any birthday. My parents watched the kids tonight and my husband took me out for dinner. It was very sweet of him. I ordered a creme brulee for dessert. He told the wait staff it was my birthday. They put a big sparkling candle on top and sang happy birthday. I figured I couldn’t go too crazy since Kayla’s musical is tomorrow night and Saturday night. I didn’t want to be hung over, you know?

Last night my husband and I had some, ahem, private moments. I figured it was the last hanky-panky of my thirties so I should enjoy it, ha ha. I also bought myself some earrings at Claire’s.
