Today is my first weigh-in for my weight loss challenge. Last week I was 198.2lbs and today I'm 195.8lbs for a difference of 2.4lbs! I'm pretty happy with that for sure :) I only started counting calories on October 21st and I've already gone from 202.4lbs to 195.8lbs which is 6.6lbs. Sounds great to me. I only got 2 days of exercise in this week too so I'm a little surprised that I lost that much. I never go over my calories though and often go at the bottom of the range I set for myself (1800-2000) or sometimes even like 1700 calories. I really feel that nursing a young baby helps with the weight loss a lot. Miles just turned 3 months so hopefully by the time he's 6 months I'll be around 165 or 170lbs.
I Skype with my mom regularly because my parents go to Florida from mid October to mid December as well as January-the end of March. They have a cottage there in 55+ community and they love it there not only because of the warmth and all the places to go but because the community where they live constantly have fun events like dances, BBQ's and events to go to and since they are social people it's perfect for them. Anyways....as I was saying I was Skyping with my mom and she was saying that she has no idea what to get Miles for Christmas since he doesn't need any clothes or toys since he has Cody's hand-me-downs. So she said if I want I could go buy whatever I want for him that I don't have and she'd give me the money. I thought that was awesome because this way I won't end up with stuff I don't need. I'm probably going to get him a mobile for his crib since we don't have one and stuff for when I'll be feeding him baby food and just random stuff that I'd like but can't normally afford. Going shopping is always fun these days when I have my days wide open with not a ton to do.
There's a website for moms in my area where you can write a little paragraph about your age, location, kids ages and what you like to do for fun where you say you'd like to meet other moms to hang out with during the day. I had a paragraph on the site a year ago when I had just moved here and I met 4 different ladies and ended up with one really good friend out of it. Well now she has a part time job and is pretty busy and I usually only see her once a month so I put my little blurb up again and am hoping to meet some moms with kids the same age. I only did that this morning and I am already meeting one lady next week who has kids the same ages. Should be fun :) It's great having kids but it's more fun when you can chat with someone while admiring each others kids and it's great for the kids too.
I'm excited for the Christmas season as always and especially because this year Cody will understand and be interested in a lot more. I can't wait to put up the tree with him and have him help decorate, take him to the Santa Claus parade, make Christmas cookies with him, show him Christmas lights and stuff like that. I hope he enjoys it all.
