Been away a while so got some catching up to do.
Well, after a nice break down south, I’m gonna catch up with this diary/blog/whatever. Next couple of entries will be pretty pic heavy so be prepared!
Last week we went down to the Caravan in Cornwall. I took a few days leave and Dawn, the dogs and I headed southwards on Wednesday. Followed the Satnav which was taking us a different way from the one we usually go, but we were in no hurry so thought we’d see where it took us. Never again. Nightmare journey that took about an hour longer than it should have done, with a couple of stops because of the dogs. Needless to say we came back ignoring the Satnav most of the time and took the route we knew well.
Weather wasn’t too kind. Mostly grey and overcast, one day of rain but mostly late on when we were indoors. But , boy, was it windy! we took a trip to Fistral Beach, near Newquay, on the Friday. This is known as one of the finest surfing beaches in the county. Needless to say, no brave souls were risking it on this day! Had a sopt of lunch, did a little shopping then headed back.
Of course we saw Vicki, our daughter , every day while we were there, which was wonderful. Saturday night we went out for a meal to celebrate Mothers’ Day, as we were heading back on the Sunday. We tried a recommended restaurant that we hadn’t been to before. It was called The Bullpit and was an American Ranch house-style. The food was absolutely superb. Definitely worth a second visit. We’re back down again at the end of May for Vicki’s birthday. That one is going to be mayhem as Paula, Drew and the grandsprogs are coming as well! It’s going to be pretty cramped in that caravan!
Ok here’s a few photos.

A very windy Fistral Beach!

Now that’s what I call just chillin’!

And to finish, a Cornish Rainbow.
On to the next entry.
