So… Cori may lose his job because the kid he watches is an ass.
I know, I know, the kid has severe ADHD and apparently has a tiny bit of mental retardation… but he slaps his grandmother, kicks Cori in the groin, punches his brother in the face, and yet the 14-year-old claims that Cori pushed him a couple weeks ago and cut his lip.
Apparently the kid’s word is more important than the adults’, because his grandmother, stepfather, and Cori all say that it was more that the kid was rushing to tackle Cori (nice try, shrimp) and Cori just put his arm up and the kid got hooked for a second. And the grandmother and stepfather also said his brother is responsible for the cut lip, not Cori.
The other people who were watching him quit about a month ago (two guys). I wonder if this is the kid’s way of trying to get rid of everyone. So this happened on the Sunday after Cori didn’t go into work because of the weather. Cori was told that all he needed was a couple extra training shifts and he could go back to work, when he goes for his 2nd training shift today and they inform him that the state needs to get involved and it may be considered abuse.
Abuse ?? ABUSE ?? Look, I may be unsympathetic and I view this kid more as an out of control spoiled brat than anything, but the kid is constantly fighting people and getting into scuffles and they trained Cori at work how to restrain him. Well apparently Cori’s work didn’t tell him that once the kid turned 14 he was no longer to be restrained, but everyone should just leave him to his own devices. That sounds way more difficult.
I mean, we almost got bed bugs because of this family. Cori has bruises because of this little shit. Like I said, I’m unsympathetic. The whole family sounds crazy, and honestly, from what I’ve heard, the kid’s mother has about 3 children too many (5 total). The youngest (7) is apparently so spoiled that if he doesn’t get attention he will physically abuse himself or shove his head into the wall until he’s bleeding to get attention. Does that sound normal ? And this isn’t even the kid Cori is responsible for !
So Cori didn’t work last weekend, can’t work this weekend, and probably not next weekend, then the weekend of the 21st-22nd we’ll be out of town anyway.
This is the last thing I needed. Cori couldn’t work that much but I can’t financially support both of us–I can’t even support myself entirely. I’ve already footed the last 3 grocery bills because Cori forgot his wallet (don’t worry, he had offered to pay me back and I just told him to pick up future trips) but now I don’t want him to foot the bill if he’s not working. Granted, he wasn’t making much, but he probably netted $400 a month, and that is basically our whole month’s grocery expenditure, internet, and then his own expenses (gas, mostly). I net MAYBE $600 a month, so that’s… not good (that doesn’t even cover our rent). I mean, I wanted to be able to tell dad to scale off the financial help soon. And if Cori loses his job… again…
UGH. I don’t care. If I see this kid, I’m punching him in the face. I’m not employed to watch him so there won’t be severe repercussions for me.

P.S. I was crying about this earlier. In fact, I’m so stressed about it that I actually thought today was Saturday and went into work… only to find out today is Friday and I wasn’t scheduled today. Wasted gas for a 26-mile round trip. I mean, yeah, better to go in on a day I’m not working than not to show up on a day that I am scheduled, but I was just so upset. I nearly cried in front of Alex on stage. And to add to all that, Clarissa (blast from the past for those of you who followed me before the summer of 2013) requested to add me back on Facebook and I accepted. And I’m going to call her on Sunday. God help me. So yeah, I did my makeup all gorgeous and even styled my hair and then got in and… just kidding, you’re not here today, you’re here tomorrow ! It’s just… we can’t get a break.
