Hello again, folks.

Not been a great deal going on over here these days. Weather has been cold, wet and windy. Had a little bit of snow, but nothing that kept us penned in like it has my friends across the sea.

Even managed to get out on the bike a couple of times. Enough to know that the new seat I bought when I got the bike is not as “long-haul” as it’s name suggests! I certainly wouldn’t want to travel to Germany on it as I plan to inSeptember this year. So I have found a chap locally (about 35 miles away) that builds seats with thicker gel inserts than standard and has an excellent reputation from the local biker population and further afield. I have a spare seat for the bike (the original the bike had when I bought it) and I will be taking this over to him on friday to “refurbish”. It will be pretty spectacular when it comes back in a couple of weeks so I shall take photos when it’s done, of course.

Work’s been picking up after the Xmas/New Year slump so I’ve been out and about a lot again. In 2 years that I’ve been in this job I’ve done nearly 59,000 miles. Luckily it’s a company car, and we change them at 75,000, so that will probably be later this year. Still loving the job though!

George (cat) had some more blood tests last week and has got the all clear and is totally back to normal. Vet thinks that he just likes to give us a fright every couple of years!

Just picked up a new hobby and started it this week. Got my first Bonsai tree! We’ve loved them for a long time, but never either had the money or the time to spend on them. But now things are a bit more comfortable we decided to take the plunge. Dawn has always been the gardener in the family but she has told me that this is MY contribution. I don’t mind actually as it is really interesting converting them into a work of art. We’ve got a 6/7 year old Chinese Elm as our first one. It has already had some training into a pleasant shape, but not exactly how I’d like it so come spring I’ll be doing some more re-shaping. I’ll take a pic or two soon.

Today is Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day! I LOVE pancakes, always have done. Dawn makes some lovely ones and has already made the batter mix for them. Hopefully I’ll manage 3 or 4 as I usually do (ours are larger than the American versions!) with either traditional lemon juice and sugar or maybe some maple syrup. Yummy!

Well, that’s all for now, folks.
Stay Safe.
