There are three students at the place where I volunteer whose mom didn’t have the…um…‘resources’ for the kids to attend our ‘Parents Night Out’. The kids would be in our care so the parents could enjoy a night out, or spend a quiet evening at home.
So…Santa stepped in. :-)
It was $8.00 per head for the kids to have pizza, drinks, and snacks, and for these three, Santa’s already-malleable heart made sure these three had the opportunity to be with the rest of the students and to get away from…whatever.
We are presently waiting for the mom to give her OK, but the hug I…er, ‘Santa’s elf’!…got, really makes what we do for the kids all worthwhile.
