Time alone is definitely a rare and precious commodity when you have 2 kids. I try to put Cody down for his afternoon nap at a time when the baby is also sleeping just so I get a bit of time alone but it doesn't always work that way. Like sometimes they'll both be down and then 5 minutes into Cody's nap Miles decides to wake up and not only does that suck but it also means I have to sprint up the stairs and grab him before he wakes Cody up which has definitely happened a few times by now.
I'm participating in a 12 week weight loss challenge with some friends from facebook. It started last Thursday and we all put money in the pot so whoever has lost the most weight by percentage and inches by percentage at the end of the 12 weeks gets something like $600. Awesome huh? There's 18 people involved in it I think. I'm going to try hard and tell myself how wonderful would it be to lose a nice amount of weight as well as win a nice sum of money whenever I want to cheat on my diet. I also found a few charts online of 30 day challenges for doing planks, burpees and squats that I've started. Those are going to be TOUGH though cuz it starts out easy (20 seconds of a plank, 50 squats, 5 burpees) but by the 30th day you have to do like a 5 minute plank, 100 burpees and 250 squats. Um yeah good luck. I will try my hardest to do all that but I will most likely have to take breaks. Especially with the 5 minute plank-yeah right! The longest plank I've ever been able to do is just over a minute lol.
Today is really day 21 since I've started calorie counting and exercising and it's going really well. I absolutely LOVE that I get to eat extra calories since I'm nursing. Yesterday I had family visit so I didn't really get to eat a lunch because I was running around cleaning the house, watching the kids and buying snacks at the store so I indulged and used some calories to slowly savour a chocolate éclair. OMG I haven't had one of those in years (since Tim Horton's used to have them) and it was incredible lol.
Oh and my new weigh-in day will also be Thursdays because of the challenge. My last weigh-in on here was last Monday where I was 198.8lbs but my weigh-in for the challenge on Thursday was 198.2lbs so the scale is definitely going in the right direction. I have a bad habit of weighing myself most mornings though just cuz I'm dying to lose weight and this morning I was 197.2lbs so even if I am fluctuating I'm definitely still losing weight. Hope I can be at that weight or a little lower by Thursdays weigh-in. I'm so happy that I'm losing weight since the number of calories I get to eat a day is totally do-able and also because I've really only been exercising a couple of times a week so far.
Miles did the weirdest thing last night! Normally he goes to bed for the night around 7pm or so just cuz that's when he ends up being tired. He's definitely not on a set schedule yet at this point. But anyways, yesterday I fed him at 3:30pm and he fell asleep at 5:15pm and at that point he was asleep for the night! I couldn't believe it. I kept expecting him to wake up one more time but he didn't. And the next time he woke up for a feeding was 2:30am. First time he's gone 11 hours since feeding for sure. He was so hungry that he tried to latch on once, missed and then started to scream and scream and not even try to latch on. My hubby came downstairs asking what the heck was going on. It was nuts. Eventually he had some milk and nursed for the longest he's ever nursed which was like half an hour lol. Most of the time he's done in 15 minutes.
Anyways, I better go and get some lunch while the kids are still sleeping :)
