Yay! Finally finished the military diet and I didn’t cheat or anything lol. You can do anything for 3 days, right? Anyways, the important thing is that I lost FOUR pounds!! Nice! That makes me surpass my dietbet goals but the shitty part is that I can’t weigh in until the 17/18th so I am going to eat lightly til then and count calories. Since January 1st I have been eating around 1600 calories but I think I’m going to eat 1400 calories until I do those weigh ins just to be safe! It was so exciting just to have a normal breakfast this morning and by that I mean coffee and cereal lol. The 3rd day was the hardest of the diet because you got the least amount of food. I pushed through though. It’s definitely not something I would want to do often but it’s a nice kick-start to some weight loss! So now I’m at 172.4lbs and I really want to be in the 160’s!! I’m going to make sure I eat healthy some of the time on the trip like 1-2 meals a day but I’m not going to be super strict since it IS a vacation and last time I went I ate whatever I wanted and STILL lost weight because of walking around in a park for 8+ hours a day every day. I’m excited to bring my fitbit and see how many steps I log in an average day lol.

It’s fairly insane how much you have to think about when you’re taking small children on a trip. Yesterday I dug out their summer clothes which was in boxes in the closet and tried a few on them so I can be absolutely clear what will fit and what won’t. I also had to try their running shoes, sandals and hats on them since kids can outgrow those in no time, especially shoes. They all fit luckily, although Cody’s sandals are a bit snug. I figure he will wear his running shoes most of the time anyways and we can always buy him some sandals there if we feel like it. I packed a ton of their summer clothes and will save pants/sweaters until a couple days before we leave once I do a fresh load or two of last minute laundry.

I’m also trying to decide what snacks to bring for the plane. Our flight is at 7:30am and it’s at a small airport in Buffalo and since we will be there around 5:30am or so I’m wondering if there will actually be anything open in the airport for me to get them breakfast. Who knows? I’m going to have a carryon full of pre-packaged snacks and diapers. I will probably buy a couple extra things at the store just before we board if anything is open like a banana and other fruit or a sandwich. Sucks that planes don’t give meals anymore. Our flight is exactly 3 hours so let’s hope the kids aren’t wild lol. Miles is going to be in my lap and I’m thinking he might do his clingy I’m-in-an-unfamiliar-environment-don’t-you-dare-let-go-of-me thing which will actually be a plus since I don’t want him running up and down the aisles like Cody did 2 years ago when my family all went to the Dominican together lol.

We don’t have much to do before the trip besides packing. Cody and Mike are getting haircuts the day before we leave since they’re getting pretty shaggy, we need some more American money and we need travel packages for our phones. Other than that we’re set and this last week before we leave for Buffalo is going to be torturous!! Cody is asking me every day if we’re going soon lol. He says, “Fo-da? Fo-da?” lol. I think we mentioned it to him wayyyyyy too early. He’s excited just hearing about planes and trains and rides and dolphins. He’s going to be in heaven! Let’s just hope he isn’t a brat from not always having regular naps while we’re there.
