I miss my kitties! (they hate handymen) in Another Open Diary refugee

The handyman is trying to fix our broken shower todady, so Scouty and Silver are hiding in the darkest corners they could find, and Tessie and Zho-Zho are wandering around looking consternated… the shower repair was supposed to be minor, we thought it was a broken screw, but unfortunately we were wrong! Poor Danny pried the thing apart and found the inside of the handle was so corroded it was broken and he had to go buy a replacement, but that didn’t fix the problem either, so he had to turn the water off and he’s gone to buy a replacement valve… fingers crossed he can get the part he needs, or else he says he’ll have to replace the entire assembly! It might not be able to be fixed today, so at least we have a second shower to use in the meantime.

(Found Scouty… she couldn’t hide in the bathroom cupboard because Danny’s banging on the bathroom wall, so she hid in the box in the corner of the craftroom where nobody could see her and she was as far away from the noise as she could get… she just came out because Danny’s gone to the store, but she’s going to be very disappointed when he comes back and starts working again!)

EDIT - we got lucky… Danny was able to get the second replacement part at the hardware store and it didn’t take long to install it, so we have a working shower again (he’d said that if THAT hadn’t worked they’d have had to order a whole new fitting and change the whole darned thing out, but luckily for the landlord that wasn’t necessary!)… he also cleaned out the drain for me and now I know how to do it myself so hopefully it’ll never get nearly as bad. John took me to the gym this afternoon and I got hot and sweaty exercising - 12 minutes on the bike and 8 minutes on the elliptical, plus my leg exercises… now for a nice hot shower and I can get ready for bed…
