With one car this weekend Ziggy had to have a shortened class, so we had time enough to get Lola to her class on time, she has missed the last two classes because of rain; so she had her agility class. Her class starts at two-o-clock and at twenty past it began to rain, only lightly to start but as time moved on the rain feel harder; Westie’s are not dogs that are happy to endure rain! And that is how the weather as continued through the day, I took the rubbish down to the bins, the two outside lights came on and as well as feeling the rain; I could see the stair-rod image of rain passing through the globes of light. After that there was Lola and Ziggy to take out, Lola had her rain coat on, I was walking carefully across the patio; keen not to reprise my tumble of last year! The grass at the far end of the patio is very wet underfoot, a second place to step down with care. It’s late autumn now and we still have leafs on the trees, they are a dull green and are hanging on – just, one night we shall have a frost and then a puff of wind, then it will be instance winder and plenty of leafs to clear away. Of course it feels like winter, once we return to GMT and the evens are dark it feels like the end of the old year; and to put the cap on it the man in the post office said ‘It’ll soon be Christmase’
