My poor Archie in Day by day

Took Archie to vet yesterday! Was sad when I left him as I felt so sorry for him.

Poor Archie has a bad gum infection and as I left him was unsure as to how many teeth he would lose to this infection . Felt so guilty to let this happen to him but vet assure me it was not our fault. Vet tells us that anything could have injured his gums allowing the infect in and small dogs are very prone to it.

It still upsets, as we believes we did all we could to make sure his teeth stayed healthy.

Hubby, collected Archie from the vets at 5.30 pm. He has lost 4 teeth, not looked yet but I knew his incisor on the right was were the infection started. Once it gets into the gums, it just spreads, so he was lucky really.

He will very much miss his teeth, as he comes and plays with his tug for hours each evening and he loves to chew and carry his ball. Strange thing is he showed no signs of pain.

He is now on antibiotics for 5 days and also pain killers

There is more to this story but will probably return another day, to tell the tail.

Archie is doing well and is eating and drinking but struggling to walk. He has bad back legs, so now wondering what happen at he vets to cause this. He maybe just be stiff, it sore from vets checking them out, as he is a best vet to us.

We are also £200 lighter.

On another note. Just got in from my first local facebook met, when brilliant.

I wonder more dogs don’t get gum problems, when were out they will snuffle through long grass and bushes, and chow any thing! Our Westie Lucky was found carrying a dead frog in her mouth - that was on a holiday on Anglesey, it didn’t do her any harm as she lived to near seventeen.

I hope your little chap is much better soon.
