Simply Here in Coping

Just going to keep this entry simple. Still trying to unpack my things. It’s nice to finally be back in my own place. Although thankful for my sis and her hubs letting me stay with them until I found a place, I’m used to peace and quite which their house is not. LOL

I’ve been sick a lot since I moved back up here right before the holidays. First a sinus infection, the a bad case of bronchitis ( with which I still have these never ending sniffles ), and then lastly a nasty stomach bug. Between them all they seem to have depleted what little energy I ever have.

I had my wellness visit with my new doctor on Wednesday. I laugh at the term “wellness” when you have as many issues as I do. I just adore my new doc though. She was very thorough and listened to all my concerns as well as taking her time to address all her issues. According to my bloodwork , my Vitamin D was extremely low so I am now on a prescription strength dose of that for 8 weeks. This is possibly the cause of my migraines coming back so strongly. My B-12 is borderline again, so I am going to buy OTC to see if I can catch it before I have to go on shots at home again. Potassium is also extremely low and she’s very concerned about that. I have to go for more labs on that in 7-10 days. I know what too much potassium can do to you from seeing it with Elton when he was so sick, but other then leg cramps what does a low potassium level do? Hmm, may have to google that.

I did get some good news though. My A1C level was at a 5.6 and that was for something like the 4th time in a row. So she said I can come off my Glucophage!! I can now manage my diabetes through diet and exercise!!! So happy about this!!!!

Wow, did she set me up with a bunch of other appointments though! I have to see a skin specialist as I have some pretty serious sun damage on my back, an eye doctor- one who specializes in diabetes, a pain management doctor for my back ( quite happy about this one as I am over due on my shots ), appointments for an MRI to check the cyst on my brain and an appointment for a mammogram, and in the near future an appointment with an allergy specialist to see if we can figure out why so many sinus infections. If I am not healthy by the time this year is over it won’t be for lack of trying! LOL

Super excited about tonight! Going to the Cornell-Harvard hockey game!! Can’t wait!! I LOVE hoc key and this should be a good game! Then tomorrow night is craft night at my sisters house. We’re going to try to do this one night a week. For now it will be at her house, but once my BIL is a little more mobile ( he just had surgery on his ankle ) then we’re going to rotate houses. Love my sis so much!!!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. There are a few interesting things brewing, just not quite ready to write about them yet.

Hugs,M

Hugs. This is the first holiday season where I did not get sick with a cold. I blame it on taking my OnGuard oil every day. Seriously cannot remember a time where I didn't get sick since I started working.

I think I just got some OnGuard oil in the mail today. I haven't opened the box yet, but I think that was one of the ones I ordered. I'll be using mine in a diffuser. Hugs,M

You should definitely be healthier by the end of 2015 - that doctor has you all set up! :) Craft night sounds like fun. Hope you enjoy your night out at the hockey game!

We watched hockey on NewYears which led to the adventure with the pond. Wish we had an ice skating rink in this area so the kids could have another sport and recreation choice.
