Never ending... in 2015

Well, we made it through the flu. Zoë’s temp only hit 104.9 once. That was scary.
Kira stayed steady over 103 for 3 days. Paige and Dave faired well considering. I finally stopped getting a fever about 5 days into that hell.
As part of the girls’ Christmas present, we bought tickets to see Frozen on Ice and bought a groupon for Maui Sands Resort (one of those hotels with the water park). I didn’t know for sure if we should go, because that was Saturday, but we did and I’m happy we did.
The kids had a blast watching Frozen and then were super happy to spend the day playing in the water on Sunday. No recurrence of fevers, yay! Zoë even fell asleep floating on the lazy river. Another water baby. :-)
BUT…just when I thought we were in the clear…Kira has broken out into a rash all over her trunk and going up to her face. I’m pretty sure it’s a reaction to the amoxicillin that they put her on. Everything I’ve read said to keep an eye on it, but finish the medicine. So we will see what tomorrow brings. It’s not itchy, not bothering her, she doesn’t have a fever…it just looks bad.
This parenting gig is hard though. I’m constantly questioning whether I’m doing the right thing. Do I expose her (and the rest of us) to more bugs and take her to the doctor? Do I just let it ride, unless something comes up? I have a couple people telling me to stop the meds right now, but others saying that I absolutely should keep giving her meds. Some say take her in, others say to wait.
I think I’m going to just wait and see. And pray that it doesn’t get worse because then I will feel horrible about not taking her in right away.
sigh

Maybe call and get advice from a nurse at the pediatricians office? I'm sure you've already thought of that but it's probably what I would do before taking my little one in. Or maybe they can prescribe her something if it's a reaction?
I hope all the sickness is gone soon. You've sure been through a lot lately!
