We awoke on Saturday and decided to go out to a World Famous Diner about 1/4 mile from the hotel ,Hanks Place. From there we moved on to the Brandywine River Museum. January is their transition month and one entire floor exhibit had been dismantled and filled the hallways on the third floor. Every year at Christmas they have an enormous model train set up with vast amounts of scenery and rolling stock. The other floors ( walls ) were filled with paintings by the various Wyeths and their contemporaries. They were a prolific group and ranging from Illustrations for books and magazine covers, to full scale painting. Because of the constructions and dismantling’s they just charged us half price admissions.
In the early afternoon we changed out plans because one place had closed and the weather had gotten frigid. We went to a Movie Theatre and saw a movie. It was the Gambler and neither of us thought very highly of it. From there we moved on back to the Hotel for prepare for our evening. The weather looked iffy and once again we did arrive at the High Tea set up. Today I munched on an Oatmeal Raisin cookie.
