Well, I went for my ultrasound yesterday. I had to sign a piece of paper saying we'd pay $375 (ugh) but I didn't have to pay anything right then. We'll get a bill next month. The actual listed cost was nearly $800, so the co-pay on a breast ultrasound is MASSIVE in proportion to the actual bill. We didn't have to pay that much for John's heart test where they pumped radioactive gunk into him, and this was five minutes (if that) with a technician and a wand. John doesn't think we'll actually have to pay that much because he says we've paid our deductible for the year, but we'll have to wait and see what the actual bill says when it arrives. Then we came home for a few hours until we had to go to John's appointment, which took a whole five minutes too... the doctor looked at his MRI said his disks are fine and he doesn't have anything major going on (and his pain has nothing to do with his car accident), but he's getting arthritis in the facet joints in the middle part of his back, and that's pressing on the nerves and causing his pain. So now he has to go see the pain management people to get shot/s in the appropriate places to hopefully make him feel better so he doesn't have to live on tramadol and flexeril. They gave us a choice of two doctors, but the first guy is the complete moron who kept me waiting for nearly two hours and then gave me an hour-long lecture on diet and how I just needed to lose weight (and he had, so anyone should be able to do it) and COMPLETELY ignored my fibromyalgia as he said that I was just fine aside from wearing out my joints by being too fat and lazy... other people have said he's a 'good' doctor but he seemed like a complete moron to me. Or else he just hates fat people and enjoys sending them into complete and utter despair. Anyway, there is no way in Hell that John wants to see him, so we have to go to the other guy and hope he's more understanding.

Today I went to the lunch program at church and it was okay, except that two guys decided to have a knockdown dragout fight in the middle of lunch. They knocked over a couple of tables and upset everyone in the room and they had to be forcibly seperated while we called the police. Of course, by the time the cops got there the two guys were gone, but it sent the message to everyone else that that kind of thing is NOT ON. We WILL call the police if needed, and if either of those guys shows up again in the next few weeks they can just turn around and go home again because they won't be allowed in the door. We've had squabbles on occasion before but this was definitely the worst. Ugh... it was very upsetting for everyone and I couldn't think straight after it was over. I've been feeling icky all the rest of the day. Not sure if it's a blood sugar rollercoaster, or just from the adrenaline surge, but I'm foggy-headed, tired, and generally blerghy, and heading for bed VERY early tonight.
