Lyra was born on 1/5/15 at 1236. She weighed 5 pounds 2 ounces and is doing perfectly. I have a long birth story coming, but heres the condensed version - My induction, which started saturday afternoon ended in an exhausted decision to have a cesarian early just after midnight early Monday morning. I had dilated to a 10 for more than 6 hours and water had been broken, but Lyra’s position prevented her from descending into the birth canal even after an ECV and every position change possible. I was on pitocin and hadn’t had a contraction I could feel in nearly 12 hours and had not had anything for pain so I know that wasn’t what it was…. it was very unusual, but my midwife says it was because of her position. We asked for an hour to meditate at 10:30pm and after no change during that hour we decided on c-section.
We have been home since Wednesday evening and everyone is doing great. Lyra is flawless and more than I could have ever dreamed of.
