I guess the big news in the world of gaming today would be that pre-orders finally went live for Grand Theft Auto VI. I decided to go ahead and get my pre-order in for the PS5 version and I was able to do that successfully earlier this morning, without complication or incident. I'm glad that the Best Buy website didn't have any hiccups while I made that pre-order. Technology can be unreliable at times, especially when you need it the most. Including tax, the game cost me $87, well, $86.99 technically. The game is set to release on 11/19/26, so just under five months from now this long-anticipated sequel will finally come out. I think it had been delayed twice already, so I guess it's nice that we've reached this point.
I've been hearing that the game, at least the physical version that I've pre-ordered and which will be released in November, is not going to come on a physical disc. Instead, the game box will contain a code, allowing for the game to be downloaded digitally. So, in essence, I just paid almost 90 bucks for a written code inside of a clear blue plastic game box. Truth be told, I'm not even dying to play the game, being that I still have yet to complete Grand Theft Auto V. I don't think that the stories will necessarily intertwine, though I'd prefer to finish "V" before starting "VI". I guess in some way, I have some homework to do in these next few months before GTA VI officially launches.

I hate to use the term "haul" because it's another one of those tired modern terms that people like to use and overuse today, but that's what I'm going to go with in this instance, albeit reluctantly. Morie had effectively gifted me a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies late last week, though just yesterday, I finally got around to bringing my haul home. She knows that I'm diabetic. She is also well aware that I'm not necessarily a good diabetic. Sure, I have my occasional lapses. I still drink sugary sodas. I like the occasional doughnut. Still, I can't even say that I'm particularly fond of Girl Scout cookies, but I've never been one to turn down free food, especially if it happens to be food that I'm likely to eat. And these are free cookies. Who am I to turn down free cookies, diabetic or not? Maybe I eat two cookies a day, working only out of one open box at a time, as to not overdo it and potentially subject myself to those dreaded blood sugar spikes?

That picture above is supposed to be a cricket. I decided to go with a video game cricket rather than an actual one.
I got to the office this morning at 4:44am. Security greeted me outside before I made my way through the west side door, which almost never happens. I don't bump into security outside all that often. Anyway, once inside the office, I unpacked my stuff and settled in. Right as I'm getting ready to eat my breakfast, a Clif Builder's Protein bar (Oreo-flavored) and a Juice Monster Voodoo Grape energy drink, I hear what I believe was a cricket a few rows away from where I sit. Before I logged into my work computer, that damn sound continued and even in the few moments I had been in the office, this sound annoyed the hell out of me. To my surprise, after about 15 minutes, the sound completely went away. I never heard it again the rest of the today, but I'm wondering if I'm going to come in tomorrow and hear that damn cricket again. I don't mind hearing crickets outside, but there's something bothersome to hear that same damn sound inside of the office or any inside of any building really.
I leave the house every morning at about 4:30am so I can get to the office as close to 4:45am as possible. Sometimes, I find that I'm much too lazy to plug my phone into the car so that I can listen to Spotify during my drive. When this kind of laziness kicks in, this means that I'm relegated to listening to the radio. As far as local radio goes, there are only two stations that I listen to. One of these stations is the oldies station, which specializes in classic R&B music dating as far back as the 1960's all the way to the early 2000's. That's a wide span of not only time, but also of the kinds of music that they'll play. For the most part, I like much of what they play. The other station is also a sort of oldies station, with this station playing hip hop from the 1980's all the way to maybe the 2010's. My issue this morning would be from that hip hop oldies station. See that song above? Holy shit and I don't mean that in a good way. I remember this song from the 90's, but what I don't recall is how fucking dumb the song is. The repetition and otherwise meaningless lyrics made me want to drive straight into the nearest brick wall at top speed. If I had one nearby, I also would have strongly considered stabbing my eardrum with an ice pick. I think that tomorrow morning before my early morning commute to the office gets underway, I will be taking the time to plug my phone into the car and listen to Spotify. I don't want to be subjected to another shitty song right as I'm getting into the car and my day is getting started. Fuck Bizarre Inc. That shit is trash.
I don't know if any of that nonsense above is even remotely interesting, but those were the highlights of my day. Truly mundane, all told.
Tomorrow is Friday. I don't know if that matters at all, being that tomorrow does not mark the end of my work week. I guess it'll just be another day.
We'll see what happens.
