The Flu...it has Struck in 2015

Oh man. So here’s my PSA before I get into it, if you have the flu, you are STILL CONTAGIOUS FOR AT LEAST 5 DAYS FROM THE TIME SYMPTOMS HIT. I know schools/churches/etc. usually have a 24 hour fever-free policy, but you can be fever-free for 24 hours and still pass the flu on.
My entire family was struck down. It seems like Dave and Paige are fairing slightly better (they both got the flu shot. The other 2 girls and I were supposed to get it at Zoë’s 9 month check-up and the holidays screwed with that schedule), but it’s a doozy.
Pretty sure we got it from my Uncle (who didn’t tell us he had it!) on NYE. I’m sure he thought he was in the clear because he had it over the weekend prior to and wasn’t symptomatic, but still.
Hit me like a ton of bricks Saturday morning. Hit Paige and Zoë Sunday afternoon. Hit Kira and Dave Monday morning. Kira has probably been the worst because her temp is staying high. I got permission to give her more medicine when I went to Urgent Care last night. However, Zoë’s spikes are scary high. Night before last was 103.5 (not horrible), but last night was 104.9. I’m really hoping this is on it’s way out.
Oh…and Dave is in DC. So I’m solo-ing it. Let me tell you how fun that has been.
Ear infections for both younger two on top of this (I’m sure it’s a side effect). And I’m pretty sure I’m getting both bronchitis and ear infections myself.
I hope everyone else is fairing better than us!
