Echoes in Half-baked musings

Stunning imagery

Powerful echoes

Audacious, honest, vulnerable, sensual

I remember her!

Parts of her still occassionally spark

Like being beach ready

She wishes she could catch alight

But she's the one who doused the wick

In equal parts naive and scared

Blind to herself and reality

Scared her dreams wouldn't fit

Into schedules, rules, routines

Scared her ways would be unwelcome

Too much, too little, too inconsistent

Naive to words and symbols hidden

Joy spoke in another tongue

Beliefs that walls cannot be moved

Missing that there was intention

So she drifted, lost at first

And accepted an invitation

To explore the idea of a life

Of different proportions

Decades past she felt an ache

A void that she could never fill

She searched all over for the source

And tumbled into depression

Until the footprints in the sand

Helped her climb to life anew

Where she deeply loved herself

And fiercely, the hand that saved her

Soul mates they say, raise each other

Ever closer to their purposeĀ

Teacher, healer, builder, muse

I'm ready to evolve and adapt to this life

This might be the worst poem I've written, but it is 4.30am, and I'm awake in a dramatic lightening storm after days of heat-disrupted sleep, so I'm cutting myself some slack!
