Last Thursday.
Then Saturday.
And again today.
Some people leave once. With C, it took more than a few goodbyes.
Saturday night was my gift to her, a goodbye tattoo. A mark that is hers to keep, but somehow touches me now.
Today we went shopping. We met one of her friends for lunch. Then she disappeared into more shops, told me to wait for her at one of my old places, the kind where time sits down with you, having a beer.
We walked around together. Stretched the day out. As if one more street, could keep that end, from arriving.
But the end came anyway.
So we had to say goodbye.
