Dear A,
The day began at 6:30 with a swim. At first, there was only one man in the pool, and while nothing has ever happened to me, I was highly aware of my vulnerability. Eventually, others arrived, and I relaxed into my 2000 metres. The steam room afterward; I love breathing in that warm air. It made me wonder if I’d have enjoyed smoking, though the obvious health risks have always put me off. I always smooth a little conditioner through my hair in the steam room (only if I’m alone in there, which I usually am). Someday, I might cut it short. Maybe jaw length. But not yet.
Afterward, I grabbed tomato and basil soup for lunch. (My car’s oil light flashed when I got home, so that will need attention at some point.) I had previously registered for a paper on Teams this afternoon—something interesting to listen to. I’ve also been doing more interview question prep (It’s starting to get sickening), and started peer reviewing a journal article. Today, I just skimmed for surface errors, but over the next few days, I’ll dive into the theory and structure.
As ever, logging into Prosebox brings you to mind, A. I miss reading your scattered thoughts—despite disagreeing with most, if not all, of your conservative viewpoints.
