Happy New Year! The kids have been on vacation for almost the last two weeks. They go back to school on Monday. We have not really done very much. Mostly had a relaxing vacation. Christmas was good. Even though the twins don’t really believe in Santa Claus, they were still very excited on Christmas Eve. All the excitement got to them and they went to bed at nine. The kids woke up about seven-thirty on Christmas morning. They were delighted to see they had lots of presents under the tree. We opened a few of them and then went to have dinner with family. We then opened some more presents. We also talked about what we are thankful for this Christmas. The kids were grateful for a place to live, food to eat, and the ones we love.

Over the vacation we had lunch with some of the guests of my cousin’s husband from her wedding this summer. It was very nice to see them again and get to know them better without all the wedding chaos. They were telling me about talking to my uncle at the wedding. He is a civil engineer and was entertaining the guests at the wedding by telling them about the poor condition of most of New York’s bridges. I didn’t know this was what he was talking to the other guests about. I have such a weird family, ha ha.

Last night my parents were very sweet and babysat the kids. My husband and I went to a liquor store and bought a bottle of pinot grigio white wine. We then went to a seafood restaurant for dinner. At midnight we had a toast with the wine.
