These are the headlines that make me laugh.

PORT ARANSAS, Texas – A 22-year-old Nixon man, who was seen twerking on top of a vehicle in a social media video, has died after a crash in Port Aransas earlier this month.  The man, later identified by the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office as Michael Brown, was ejected from a Jeep following a collision with a Tesla.  Brown suffered a serious head injury and was pronounced dead at approximately 11:35 a.m. on March 20 — six days after the crash, KRIS reported.  After his death, a video that garnered hundreds of interactions on Facebook showed Brown twerking on top of the Jeep.  Separate social media footage depicts the aftermath of the crash as first responders treated Brown. Debris was scattered on the road.  According to KRIS, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating the crash as a driving while intoxicated (DWI) case.

Don't give me the argument that, "we all did stupid stuff like this when we were young."  I didn't.  My peers didn't.  No one I know did anything even remotely this stupid.  Maybe it is because we were all raised by adults who would nip any signs of gross stupidity in the bud?  Perhaps with a gentle word such as, "What are you, some kind of moron?"  Or, "Knock that shit off!"

True, we didn't care about "likes" and "followers", being too busy acquiring self-worth through actual meaningful achievement.  The generation raised on strong self-esteem, everyone is a winner, and participation trophies for all has somehow managed to miss the most important life lesson - bad decisions have consequences.  Predictive analytics, where you can visualize the potential outcomes of a decision, is probably the litmus test of intelligence.
