Daughter and I were chatting. A friend of hers found a cat in a McDonalds dumpster in Maryland and wants to drive it–a 10-hour drive–out to her. Is that really wise? I asked. It wouldn’t be that hard to find a local cat, if you want one, and then you could choose.
“The cat’s name is Theresa.”
“Oh.” I said. Obviously, that changed things. “Obviously, that changes things,” I said. “Can you send me a picture?”
Daughter sent me a picture.
“Yeah, okay, I see. If your friend is willing to make that drive, yes. Just make sure she gives you the cat carrier, if there is one, before she leaves.
