I rustled through my Dad's dry foods cupboard this morning and spotted a large unopened pack of jumbo oats.

Aww, they're from Grape Tree. I was with my Mum when she bought these, we were having a little outing into the city about 12 weeks before she became ill.

Best check they're still in date, it's been 9 months since they were bought...

I turn them over and the best before date is my Mum's birthday 🥺 🥰 🥰 🥰

In other news about 10 days ago a musical artist appeared on my TikTok FYP.

I don't really use TikTok for following musical artists, but every month or so the algorithm shows me a really cool artist to explore.

Most of the time, I'll listen to a few tracks, find them pleasant, then like the post and leave it to fate as to whether they feature on my feed again.

This month's offering was Apollo Flowerchild, a jazz & indie singer songwriter who's music is full of joy, pain, wisdom and whimsy. The way they express themselves is a gorgeous blend of flamboyance and gentle modesty.

Within an hour or so of discovering them, I'd listened to their whole back catalogue. After 4 days I decided their music and artistry was something I wanted to invest in, so I bought their album via Bandcamp and have listened to it dozens of times already.

And I've explored their Tik Tok playlists, joined a live, started commenting on new and old videos and made it my duty to interact with their social media posts as often as possible to try and boost them in the algorithm. I want them to succeed so they can make more beautiful music!

It's taken me by surprise how quickly I became so invested. Normally my social media journeys are slow and very few lead to a purchase, but when it aligns, it's like magic!
