I learned today of a German-operated airline that has been in business for 70 years! Originally majority-owned by Lufthansa, it is now one of their biggest competitors in Germany. Their long-haul flights are basically business, premium economy, and economy classes, and the fleet is all new Airbus 300-900Neo aircraft.
I have to fly to the US for a few weeks in May, and have learned from experience that a lie-flat seat is a requirement, not a luxury, for me on anything over 6 hours. The last time I was in a recline seat for that long I paid for it with days of sciatic pain. So it was a pleasant surprise to see how affordable the business class is on Condor. I'm all booked, and was thrilled with the pricing, which is close to half of what the competition was offering. My days of loyalty to one carrier are over. Time was the airlines used to take care of you as a regular customer, but those days are gone.
