did i ever mention i love documentaries?????
when i can watch them i love them! :)
while i was recovering over the weekend i ended up catching a 2 hour documentary about the man - the legend- shane mcconkey. never knew much about him but have loved always watching freestyle sports in the winter. like anything x games winter olympics related.
he was base jump freestyle professional extreme skier. sadly he died back in 2009 basically doing what he loves to do - base jump skiiing. he was doing a jump at a place called the dolomites (mountains) in italy and had a bad landing.
i dont ski, nor do i base jump but damn- this guy had such passion and drive. he loved what he did. you can just hear it in how he talks or when you see him describes what he is doing in this documentary.
visually its like he at the edge of the cliff but sees no fear. he sees endless possibilities. he does not see ends but rather beginnings at every jump.
i like this. i like that way of thinking. he had it all his life. he pretty much like went all over the world with this mentality. i admire this.
in any case. i watched this 2 hour documentary on his life over the weekend and i thought it was cool. i always said one day i would end up at everest base camp. we shall see.
if anyone wants to check out one of shanes videos see below.
here is the movie i watched http://mcconkeymovie.com/
and check this out. wing suit. want to go flying? like a bird? try this. just beyond amazing. rest in peace shane.
