Redecorating in Open Diary 2001-2018 (Pre-Prosebox)

I changed my shoes (see contents page)!

And my colors. I like a change every once in a while.

I should probably do a little rearranging in my apartment. According to an article I read, my feng shui is all out of whack.

And apparently, a bunch of other stuff is out of whack too!

Scott was giving me a hard time the other day about my decorating expertise. See, I’m an eyeballer and an experimenter. Sure, the dining table that I bought for $30 at a yard sale was ugly when I bought it. But I refinished it and painted it black to match my chairs and the rest of the dining area. It’s gorgeous. Reminds me of an antique baby grand piano with its straight legs and slightly rounded surface edges. Sure, there are brush strokes on the table’s top, but they were made with love. Scott told me that I need some pointers. Maybe so.

But once he started, he was on a roll. I felt like he was knocking everything I’ve done in my lovely living space!!

He went on to tell me that eyeballing stuff when you put it on the walls is fine because of the imperfections in the building (meaning, nothing is ever truly perfect), but that my grandmother’s sheet music that I’d framed and hung vertically (one piece directly above the other) was ever so slightly “off” and it bugged him.

Well guess what, Scott? Pretty much everything I do is slightly “off”. That’s just how I am. Like it or lump it. Or else, offer to help me redo it….

But don’t sit there and point out every imperfection you see and then walk away. My world is as imperfect as it gets. I welcome suggestions. But then please offer to help me figure out ways to fix it, why don’t you?

I can’t fix something if I don’t know how!!

Now. Anybody got anything to say about my new OD layout?!
