Yeah. Tons of time to procrastinate. So here’s the survey that everyone’s been passing around. I snagged it from Sweet Jane:

1. Your name spelled backwards.

Regnig

Of course, my name’s not really Ginger. But I like the look of Regnig! Say it with a German accent. Cool, huh?

2. Where were your parents born?

Dad was born in a farmhouse in Rose Farm, Ohio. Poor family. His parents were potters. As in pottery. When we’d go visit my grandparents, my dad would drive us past the two-room schoolhouse where he went to school.

Mom was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. When we’d go visit my grandparents, my mom would take us to the Steak n’ Shake where she and her girlfriends used to hang out.

See, I come from midwestern stock. Why am I so afraid to go back to my roots?

3. What is the last thing you downloaded onto your computer?

Ultra Win Cleaner. Dad let me borrow it. Don’t know if it did any good though. My Wins don’t look that much cleaner. Or run faster, for that matter.

4. What’s your favorite restaurant?

Right now, it’s that Thai place in SoHo where Canuk and I sat at the most romantic table in the house. The Kissing Table. I had ginger-flavored Cosmopolitans. He had ginger vodka tonics (perfect!). We kissed ginger kisses. Shared secrets. Kissed some more. Ate spicy stuff and sticky rice. Laughed. Stayed until we were the only two customers in the place. Kissed some more. Mmmm. Yum.

5. Last time you swam in a pool?

A couple of months ago, a former boss of mine had a girls’ pool party. It was mommy co-workers and their daughters. Really, it was just a way for us big girls to get together and drink and gossip. It just so happened that everyone has daughters (except me), so she decided to invite all the little girls as well. It was actually really fun for me because for some reason little girls are fascinated with me. I guess I relate to them more than I do their mommies.

6. Have you ever been in a school play?

To quote Jane, “Many many many.”

Lots of musicals. I don’t know why I ever veered away from my singing voice. I wish I’d developed it. I love to sing. Love it. It’s in my blood. My grandmother was a professional singer before she got married and turned into a housewife.

7. How many kids do you want?

No earthly idea. Would I like to have a child? I think so. Would I do it alone? I’d rather not, but possibly. I’m toying with the idea of adoption, but that will be a ways off….

8. Type of music you dislike most?

House. You know the stuff they play at some clubs that thumps on and on and on and on and doesn’t really go anywhere? In fact, it sounds like it never, ever ends! I know. I’m not a big fan of the “E” (or “X”, as we used to call it), so I can’t really relate to this music.

9. Are you registered to vote?

Of course.

10. Do you have cable?

Nope. And I really should. Part of my work is to spot trends taking place everywhere, including on TV. Influential trends. So shows like Sex and the City and networks like MTV are very important. Thing is, I get a lot of this stuff when I travel. And when I’m home, I don’t really like to watch TV.

11. Have you ever ridden on a moped?

I lived in Belgium for a short while and had a boyfriend who rode a moped everywhere. He used to pick me up for dates on that thing! Very, very fun!!

12. Ever prank call anybody?

Does calling a boy you have a crush on in Jr. High and hanging up when he answers constitute a prank call? Then yes.

13. Ever get a parking ticket?

Yeah, why?

14. Would you go bungee jumping or skydiving?

Not sure. I think I’d try bungee jumping or maybe some form thereof. Maybe after a pitcher of margaritas.

15. Furthest place you ever traveled.

Hong Kong. And into Mainland China, which feels like much, much further.

16. Do you have a garden?

I have visions of a garden. With a gardener. I’m not so great with the greenery.

17. What’s your favorite comic strip?

I’ve kind of gotten into Bizarro because I went to see Dan Piraro’s Bizarro Bologna Show and he’s a pretty groovy dude.

18. Do you really know all the words to your national anthem?

Yup. Wanna hear?

19. Bath or Shower, morning or night?

Shower, morning. Bath with candlelight and lover, night.

20. Best movie you’ve seen in the past month?

Super T. and I rented The Royal Tennenbaums a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was pretty good. Darker than I thought it would be, but that’s not a bad thing.

21. Favorite pizza topping?

Ooh. Lots. Depends again, on the mood. I like shrimp, black olives, broccoli, chicken, bell peppers. Sometimes the obligatory Canadian bacon and pineapple. Hungry now.

22. Chips or popcorn?

Whatever I’m craving at the moment. I really do love popcorn at the movies and sometimes I crave it at work. Have you tried that sweet popcorn? Yum.

I like flavored chips. Like jalapeno or salt and vinegar or barbeque. And oh…the kettle fried!! I can feel my arteries clogging and my hips widening.

23. What color lipstick do you usually wear?

Something that coordinates. Shades of coppers and reds mostly. If I want to go super casual, a very light sweep of pale or clear gloss does the trick.

24. Have you ever smoked peanut shells?

I don’t understand this question.

25. Have you ever been in a beauty pageant?

No, but I tried out for cheerleader once. That experience was humiliating enough.

Oh yes, there’s more…
