Could it really be the first day of June already? Last I checked, it was the dead of winter and I was in the middle of moving! What happened? I mean, seriously. When does life ever stop feeling like a whirlwind? Never? Okay.

So. The weekend, though it feels like a million years ago, was fabulous!! No men, no muss, no fuss.

Let’s see. Friday night, I did nothing. I came home from getting the paws polished and simply fell into bed. I can’t remember for the life of me what I did on Thursday night to make me so tired. I just remember that I was exhausted all day on Friday. How sad is that? What the hell did I do? This is one of the reasons I keep a diary—so I can figure out where my days go.

Saturday morning was dedicated to working out. Project MMASS in action! I did some hardcore aerobics, but then unfortunately, because of the holiday weekend, the Xtra-Special Class wasn’t being offered. Shoulda hit the weights, but…ran into my friend Shannon instead. She was an old party buddy. Hadn’t seen her in years!! She’s married now with a little boy. How things change! And yet, I feel like I haven’t changed a bit. In fact, I felt so behind when I saw her with her boy. Again, not that I’m ready or that I even want a baby, but…am I making any progress at all??

But back to my ass. 2 more lbs. gone (weigh-in was today)! I know, slow. But better two less pounds that two more. Seriously, you should see that weight chart of mine…the moment I take my eye off the goal line (yes, there’s an actual line on the graph), the chart goes crazy. I wonder if I do that on purpose? I mean, subconsciously, of course. But I resent that fucking chart. Why do I have to work so hard when most people don’t even have a chart?! Why is my ass so rebellious?

The rest of Saturday was devoted to Project OPAL (or, the loft project). Little by little, it’s going to come together. I have vision!!

Went to Home Depot and bought the paint, and I’m getting a handyman to come over to do an estimate on the paint job tonight. I was so tempted Saturday night to start painting (partly because I talked to this guy at HD who said he’d painted a whole room that morning in three hours), but then I thought better…what a horrible task that would be! For me, anyway. I suck at painting, and I have a LOT of wall to cover. I’d love to get this taken care of by this weekend. Hope Handyman has some sweet, sweet news for me tonight!

I also bought some new furniture on Saturday. What fun! I ordered a gigantic entertainment center that will hold a bunch of crap that I don’t yet have (ie: large screen plasma TV and all the accoutrements, decorative vases, fern-like shit, etc. etc. etc.). I also ordered a writing desk that doubles as a behind-the-couch console. I don’t know how else to describe it. You’ll have to see it when it comes in. Pix to follow in 6-8 weeks. That’s how long it’s going to take this stuff to come in. It will be worth the wait, because it will take me that long to get all my other crap taken care of (new TV, paint, bedroom, er, boudoir finished, blah, blah, blah….).

I crashed hard on Saturday night just thinking about all this shit.

That takes us into Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!! The extra long bikeride through downtown back to my old hood was soooo refreshing. I need to take photos of this particular ride sometime, because it’s so very cool. Not only are there great views, but the people! Oh, the characters!! Unfortunately, I might give away where I live because there are a lot of distinct images along my ride. Hmmm..wonder how I can do it.

Anyway, I got myself a nice breakfast at the café and called my mom and pops. We made plans to see each other the next day (Memorial Day—hooray—no work!!). Then I hopped back on the bike and rode home. The rest of the day was a blur of stuff: more decorating the place, shopping, and then out with Matt for dinner (without Maddie…Matt was so excited to do “adult stuff”!), and even later still out with Lovely and a couple of other girls.

I was annoyed on Sunday night because nobody was out. I mean, HELLO!! We don’t have to work tomorrow!! Where are you people? I hadn’t gone out all weekend cuz I was saving it up for Sunday night! Now I know better. Next Memorial Day Eve it’ll be a night of staying close to home for me. Because even though I got to see Lovely and Janice and meet a new girl, the night was way too low key for a group of bitches like us. Whew.

Monday morning, the cat woke me like any other day—early. It doesn’t matter how late I stay out. So guess what? I hopped on the bike and did my special ride all over again! The only difference was this time I was a bit hungover. Still, I’d sweat(ed?) out most of it by the time I got home. The ride was fantastic! But then, after M&D came over and we had lunch and went to the indoor zoo (air conditioning!), I had a hangover relapse. I ended up having to take a hardcore nap because I was going out that night with Persephone (my friend/colleague—frolleague [?] from work). Yum, what a sweet, sweet nap! I wonder why I don’t take more naps.

Monday night. Yes! Out with Persephone. And all I got to say is…. Death by Sexy.

The rest of this week has been bluh by comparison. The only exciting things that have happened are:

  • Got looked at when I went to the gym last night—first time in like, forever
  • Got called from PC support for having a virus on my computer today, so they asked if they could patch in, and what could I say, no? Unfortunately, it was right in the middle of a sexy e-mail series with Dude and while I was watching the IT guy virtually move around my screen, up pops a Dude e-mail reply that says (and I quote):

    now I want you. bad.

It goes on…but I don’t even have the heart to write it down. I know the IT guy could feel me blushing through the phone.

Dude said later (and I quote again):

what a strange coincidence that the email that you describe sassy business [ginger] (down to the panties!) the it guys jump in and scream virus.

Coincidence, indeed!! Look, I was just giving him the fashion report!! Come on!

Okay…that’s about all I got for now. Plus, I need to get going anyway. The paint guy’s coming tonight, so I need to at least run home to pick my clothes up off the floor!
