Picked Grrr up at the airport this afternoon. He took the quickest of quick trips to Europe to visit his kids (left on Thursday afternoon and came back home today—that equates to basically two days with the kids).

Anyway, he’d sent me an email last night telling me that he’d come down with a cold while he was there because it was chilly and rainy. In my previous entry I told myself to expect the worst…and it’s a good thing I did because he’s out cold (no pun) in the bed right now. His only request before slipping into a semi-coma was mint chocolate chip ice cream (see? I TOLD you!!), so I went to the store and picked up some rocky road as well (girl’s gotta have some sweets too!).

I have to say that even though I was expecting the worst, I was a wee bit disappointed when I saw him trudging through the international arrivals area—all sad faced and red-eyed and runny-nosed. I know he came home today so that he and I could spend the holiday together. But he did tell me that he was happy to be home and that made me feel good. Because he could just as easily told me that he was really sad to have to leave the kids. And I know he is, but he’s been really sweet about my dumb sensitivities lately.

I’m sitting outside by the pool right now. Finished up a little work and thought I’d write a little more. Because I can! And I love that!

I finally listened to the voice mail that “my connection” left me last night. It was actually a super darling message saying that they understood why I didn’t really want them to come over. Back in the day I would have GLADLY loved some drunken afterparty party at my place, but it’s not just my place anymore (duh). He went on to tell me all kinds of sweet, drunk stuff. But none of it matters, does it? Bottom line, I would have been an IDIOT to let something like that happen. I’m glad I wasn’t an idiot last night.

Meanwhile, The Grrrrr is snoring up a storm in the other room. How fitting. The weekend will end on a mellow note. So yeah, not grrrrreat…but fine with me.

I think I’ll post some photo entries!
