Remember the boobie-looking cupcakes that Grrr had gotten me for my birthday? They were from Sprinkles Cupcakes. Here, let me refresh your memory a little bit:

Well, I was looking for dessert ideas for a Thanksgiving potluck that our team is having at work, and Grrrr and I still need a LOT of kitchen tools and utensils, so we decided to go to Williams-Sonoma just to look around for you know, stuff. And did you know that they have Sprinkles Cupcake mixes??!

Yes!! The mix is expensive, and there are lots of extra ingredients needed, and you make the icing from scratch, but come on…Sprinkles?! They come with those candy disks to put on top, so they must be hip, right?

So last night I decided to do a test run. Because, um right, you know I’m not much of a baker. But here’s how they turned out:

Red Velvet. I taste test them today. I’m going to take a couple into work. I’ll let you know how it goes. If I give myself a thumbs-up, then I’m going to make them for the potluck. If not-so-much, then back to the drawing board.

The mixes are limited, but the Sprinkles stores (which are few and far between–right now only in Beverly Hills, Newport Beach and Dallas [?] of all places) carry a PUMPKIN flavored cupcake!

Hmmmm…There’s an idea! I didn’t see this at Williams-Sonoma, but it’s packaged like it would be. For now, step two is the taste test.

**LATER THAT DAY**

* Dare I say? I brought a cupcake to work with me this morning and let it warm to room temperature (I’d put them in the fridge last night). And oh, heaven…this cupcake is possibly BETTER than the ones that Grrrrr bought?! The most delicious little pieces of joy! You know I’ll be making these for the pot luck for sure.

** And um…have I turned into a super-boring, baking, stay-at-home bump on a log or what? I need to spice up this diary…STAT!! And by that I don’t mean causing drama with the fiancé. As a matter of fact, I’m really working at toning down the drama. Alas, a conundrum! How do you bake and build a loving home and lower the drama and still stay spicy??! Hmmmmmm….
