…but it’s MINE!!

Oh yeah!! Vacationing at home ROCKS!!!

I woke naturally at 7am—two whole hours later than I normally get up during the week. So luxurious! And yet, such a great time to get up and get going with the day. Grrr had a meeting this morning, so he asked me to wake him when I got up. So I tried to tip-toe around and make coffee, but he was up before I had a chance to deliver. But that’s okay because I got to reap the benefits of being able to hang out and chat for a while and sip my coffee without either of us having to rush.

I went for a nice workout in the gym upstairs. It was packed! I’m so used to having a whole gym to myself at 5am. Seriously, it’s kinda like having my OWN gym in my own house when I go before getting ready for work. I actually felt a little self-conscious while doing crunches on the exercise ball. Twas worth it, though. I LOVE the way I feel after a gooood, hard workout.

When Grrrr came back from his meeting, I’d showered, straightened up the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, and dressed in an outfit that I KNEW he would love. He took me to lunch and told me no less than 10 times how beautiful I looked. I ate it up…along with our lunch and then sent him on his way (he’s off on another business road trip today and will be back tomorrow). I cannot TELL you how it feels to get “that look” over and over again and again. We have both been working so hard, and it is paying off.

Then I went to my class at the Apple store. It was…well…..okaaaay. First of all, the place was so freezing cold to the point of being uncomfortable. This chick sitting next to me was all annoyed about something not working right with her system, and the teachers were kind of distracted and discombobulated. And I was distracted and discombobulated by the fact that the classes are done in the middle of the store with customers walking through and bumping and clumping around and alllll of this outside stimuli.

Still it was fun to play around with photos and see a few of the amazing things that can be done on this sweet little computer! There are cool ways to edit and put photos together to create books and cards and blah diddy blah (of course you can PURCHASE the books and cards that you create, but I think that there are other things I will be able to do!). A one-hour lesson in a distracting environment is not enough to really get a lot out of, but it’s a pretty good start.

After class I walked around the mall.

I NEEED to start shopping for Christmas AND Grrr’s birthday. But I just wasn’t into it tonight. I’ve got to figure out a budget and I just didn’t feel like thinking about that. What I WAS thinking about was that Ralph Lauren skirt that I’d put on hold (until tonight) that was marked down from $298 to $199. When I’d tried it on a few days ago, it fit me like the most delicious wool/cashmere glove. Oh, it gave me the most luscious curves and the tiniest waist in the world. And ooooooh, it would be so nice to treat myself!!

But guess what? As of yesterday, the washing machine is BROKEN!!! And we need to either get it repaired or get a new one—whichever is cheaper and more effective. And somebody’s gotta cough up the dough for that. I’m lucky that I’m partnered up to help bare the brunt of boring expenses like this, but still….

Inner turmoil!

So guess where I ended up? That’s right! Forever 21. I picked out 8 cute-looking outfits, but alas. After I got STUCK in a super-tight sequined dress, I decided to call it an evening. Seriously, I almost had to call for help because this unbelievably ill-fitting excuse for an empire seam sheer-layered dress was CHOKING me!! My heart started beating really fast, and I was thinking that I was going to have to rip the dress apart to get it off. I figured no biggie because it would be worth the twenty bucks to get the fuck out of there! But OH what a struggle!

I finally twisted and turned myself out, straightened my hair down, gained my composure and high-tailed it out of the damn mall. I was exhausted.

And here I am! Still on vacation! My Home Vacation!! I have my spa day scheduled on Wednesday and hopefully the washing machine repairs and some Christmas/Birthday shopping Grrrr’s coming home and..and…Thanksgiving! How much do I love this week? So very, very much.
