Sunday. I skipped a day of writing just because I could!
I also (sorta) started my running challenge, but instead of running I took my nike+ sensor to my aerobics class. Those aerobic workouts are so hardcore and they take so much out of me that I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do both (run AND do my aerobics class), so I thought that if I plugged myself in, perhaps I could log the equivalent miles in my challenge. Guess what? Doesn’t really work. We do so many skip steps and arm movements and weird contortions in that class, but it doesn’t translate into miles. I felt like I’d run a 1/2 marathon, but the sensor said I only ran 2.26 miles!
I plugged those numbers in anyway. Hey, every little bit counts, right? I’m currently ranked #20 on the leaderboard! I’m going running after this entry.
Tried to shop with Grrrr yesterday. I do so much better by myself. I’m much more focused. We ran into some friends at the mall. Next week is gonna be killer because I’m traveling Mon/Tues/Wed, and when I come back, it seems like it will be Party-o-Rama around these parts. Like one every night! Cross fingers I can do this! So far so good with the drinking.
Grrrr’s birthday is December 10th. There will be no time to sneak around to buy him a gift, so I bought him this online:
I hope he likes it!! He’d mentioned once that because we have such amazing views from allllll the windows in this place, it’d be a cool loft to have a telescope. Plus I think the kids will love it when they’re here. Plus, it’s fun to spy on the people in the buildings across the street!
He also wants clothes, but I swear the man is so PICKY! I’m in the fashion industry. I used to work in menswear. I know the business! Yet he still doesn’t like 1/2 the stuff I like for him or he is waaaaay more particular that I am. He has the MOST expensive tastes (I blame his wealthy ex-wife and her family for that–he has a closet full of Lanvin SUITS)! Where I fall in love with a bargain and a steal (see the thrill I experience from a fantastic $15.99 Target find a few entries back), he will turn up his nose and lead me over to the couture section! Hell, the boots he bought me for my birthday were the most expensive shoes I’d ever tried on! You know what he told me when I held up an amazingly beautiful $200 Ted Baker shirt?
“I’m having my shirts custom made from now on.”
Oh boy. What to do? I am in love with a fashionista. After I’d complained about all the women at work–look at what I have right here at home!
So I buy him non-clothing items and he can get his own apparel. That works for me. I can focus my fashion eye towards myself!!
Okay. Would love to stay, but my running challenge calls!
