Today, I started before the sunrise. I actually went down to the gym because I didn’t want to run outside in the dark. But all the treadmills were taken, and I desperately wanted to run. So I bit the bullet and walked up the stairs of the hotel and out the door and just started running through the misty morning.
By the time I hit the Louvre and on through the Tuileries Garden the sun was starting to rise and light up the clouds. I felt my whole body go misty. I took several deep breaths and spotted both the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower in the background, and as I rounded the pyramid in the courtyard of the Louvre I thanked God for my life. It’s going to be a really cool day.
