….thank them???
My parents (well, my dad) called and emailed ALL of the vendors for the wedding today and undid (almost) everything that we had in the works. I just did NOT have it in me to do this. This was not an easy task for him either, as he is heartbroken for me. He told me that everyone was so incredibly nice when he talked to them. And I cried when he read aloud an email response from our photographer who is a personal friend and neighbor of mine. The florist is too, and she told my dad that she was going to come see me (as a friend).
The kicker is the reception site. We were going to have the reception at this swanky-swank super trendy boutique hotel, and EXMF* had paid for the deposit himself. Wellllll, turns out that we still owe over $4000 to cancel because it is stated that way in the contract. EXMF had already called the reception coordinator to try to get his deposit back…on May 18th! She was like, no way, Jose…and in fact, you still OWE us MORE dough!! Apparently, he protested and quickly backed off. When my dad spoke with the coordinator, she asked who broke the engagement, and he told her that it was EXMF, and she said she was going to put the squeeze on HIM.
I’m 99% sure that I’ll end up paying for that because there’s no way in HELL that he’ll fork over the cash (he simply doesn’t have it), but DAMN! I wonder if there’s some way that I can get him to pay ½? I’m sure there’s no way without a lawsuit…which I really do not want. But shit, people…I even gave the goddamn RING back to him!!!!
Waaaaaait a second here.
I don’t want to fight, but FUCK! That fucker broke the engagement and now he’s getting away completely UNSCATHED??! What is going ON here??
OK. Officially pissed. See how quickly the sadness goes away?
God, but I’m still sad.
I hate this more than anything I’ve ever hated in my life.
Gratitude list will have to come later.
* I have to give credit for EXMF’s “new” name to [virtue number 1]. I meant to do that in the last entry, sorry!
