Made it to Monday in Open Diary 2001-2018 (Pre-Prosebox)

EXMS put his profile back on match.com. Still with the photo that shows 1/3 of me. Still with the bullshit about how he’s ready for a serious relationship. This time I’m not shocked, but I can’t believe he did it while his kids are still here. They still have another three weeks together, so I guess he’s getting himself lined up for when they leave. I’m sure it will be hard for him to be alone, but who am I to care anymore?

Guess who saved my life yesterday? TMG. I went to the birthday party with him and his 3 kids (and one other neighbor kid). What a riot! He has turned into my lifesaver and a friend. He texts me occasionally throughout the day and simply makes me smile. Even when (especially when) I am coming unglued at the thought of all this EXMS crap.

It was his boss’s birthday. There were some real characters there. TMG bought me a bottle of bubbly and made sure my glass was full at all times. He barbequed while I talked to a bunch of people, then he fixed me a plate and made sure I was fed! A couple people asked if we were dating, and I was kinda like NO WAY! But instead replied that we are friends.

Bottom line: No crying! It was a small miracle.

Other stuff I was doing when I wasn’t crying into my diary? Friday, I met Chrisie Lou (visiting from Nashville) and Lovely Leah (fresh off her honeymoon) for happy hour. Good to see everyone except for the annoying “single” guy who creeped me out. I wasn’t the most polite about it, but I just had to move away quickly. I ended up chatting with a really sweet, talllll, teddy-bear of a guy. Somehow ended up telling him my sob story, and he told me that he was only married for 7 months when his wife said, “This marriage stuff is not for me…I’m out.”

After cocktails, 6 of us happy hour girls went to have sushi, and that was pretty great.

After sushi, it was Lovely Leah and me. The only two left standing, though I wasn’t standing too well. We ended up having a nightcap, and though I should have been gushing about the future, I did end up whimpering about the past/present and the unknown future. Dumb. I needed to be in bed. So we left.

Saturday, I met some other friends at the mall for a bit more retail therapy. It was Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale! Hip-hip hooray! Score two more pairs of boots (to add to my overflowing collection). I know, I need home stuff, but I just couldn’t resist!

Then Tracy, RB, Gregory and I had dinner and then cocktails at a super-groovy fairly newly (huh?) renovated hotel. Cool place. Cool view. Great people watching. A little bit of whining and commiserating (Gregory and Matt broke up a few months ago, too). But all-in-all good time.

And you know how my Sunday was.

So I made it to Monday. Now let’s see how I fare the rest of the week.
