I took the damn survey while waiting for my old high school crush to come in town (I thought he’d be here much, much earlier…like right now, but I’m happy for this time of reflection). He won’t be here with friend in tow until about 9. That means I can even go for a run, come back and then get ready! Good news indeed.
Happy New Year! Enjoy (or cringe, whichever)!!
End of the Year Survey
1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Endured a broken engagement. Zip-lined. Actually tried to get pregnant.
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No. My year kinda went haywire around May. I was doing good with my 1000-mile running thing, but blew it pretty quickly after the breakup. I also gained 10lbs. Coincidence? And yes, I will make resolutions again this year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
It seems like people all around me gave birth, but nobody super close to me. And Im glad because of all the child-centric stuff I was going through (stepchildren, and the loss of them the trying to get pregnant thing).
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no one close. I know this sounds really woe-is-me, but a big part of ME died in 08. Im still very grateful to be alive in fact, I have another chance, and thats good, right? Very good.
5. What countries did you visit?
Various cities in the US, Japan, Great Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Costa Rica

A big boost of self-confidence, a man who rocks my world.

Surviving, I guess. Existing. Thats not really an achievement. Hmph.

I failed to get married. I failed at some things at work. I failed at being a really good friend.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes. Oh my aching heart. I will be suffering for a while, I think. Sometimes I feel better, sometimes I feel worse. I cant wait for this to be over.
