1. I woke up this morning with a weird feeling. I hadn’t heard back from the unemployment office, so I logged onto the website to see if any of my status had changed. Good news! It appears I don’t have to go through any ugly appeal, as they are going to start payments in the next couple of weeks. It feels weird to be happy about unemployment, but sooooooo good not to have to do some kind of appeal. The thought of that was really bumming me out, so I’m breathing a small sigh of relief there.
2. I’ve sent out two resumes for actual jobs that I’ve seen online, and two more to friends who might be able to pass tidbits my way. I actually got a call-back yesterday! And lined up a phone interview for today! Not bad, eh? I don’t know if anything will come of this phone interview. I mean, though the job sounds great, I think I’m overqualified for this position (even though the title sounds equivalent to my old title). We’ll see. You never know where it might lead. Also, the job would be in Chicago. I LOVE Chicago, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t know if I want to move so far away from my parents, etc. I realize I’m jumping the gun here, but these are things to think about. Bottom line, it’s a VERY good thing to be getting a call-back without trying very hard. I’m thankful for that.
