Bought myself just a little bit more time before I leave to attend TWO milestone birthday parties (one 40th and one 50th…my friends are getting up there, folks).
Last night didn’t really go as planned, but when has anything gone as planned for me lately, so let’s just chalk that one right up there with typical Ginger Snappery of late.
Lovely Leah was the instigator of the Happy Hour, and she was a NO SHOW!! She sent me a text telling me that she got caught up in a last minute project at work and didn’t even know if she was going to be out of the office in time for the festivities. She never showed and stopped texting me at around 8:30, which makes me slightly suspicious. I asked her if she was having a secret rendezvous, and she never answered me back.
Janet never showed either. She was the one who was trying to set me up with someone, so I never got to talk to her about it. Hmmmm.
But Sandie did show up, and we had a fairly nice time sipping pink bubbles and laughing. We flirted with boys and that was fun. I even gave my number to a super-cutie (even though it didn’t really make me feel very sparkly).
Sandie was invited to a party and she asked me to join her, so I did. It was weird and uncomfortable. It was like a bunch of older people and a bunch of younger (maybe early college-aged?) kids. Very nice house, but the old farts were pretentious as HELL (Sandie’s friends…oops). The kids were cool, and I found myself MUCH more comfortable with them (is that weird?), so I hung out for a little while with them. One sweet boy made me a cocktail concoction of some sort, and we chattered away.
But I ended up leaving pretty early on. Went home and went to bed.
Super-Cutie sent me a text at some point last night, but I was already asleep. We’ve been texting on and off today (found out he’s 10 years younger…. *sigh* and lives 4 hours away). We might see each other after our respective events tonight (but I doubt it) or before he leaves to go back home tomorrow. We’ll see. I’m not excited, but at least this proves that I’m not dead, either.
So I need to get going now. I suppose I’ll just add my JuPoThiMo to the end of this lovely entry:
1. I am honored and pleased to attend two birthday parties today!
2. I’m proud to say that I’ve looked presentable for two days in a row now–HA!
3. I’m looking forward to a MAJOR new chapter in my life!
4. I’m happy that my mom called me today and I actually answered instead of letting it go to VM so that I can call her back when I’m “ready”.
5. I get to see Best Bud tonight!!
