Name: Scott

Age: Can’t remember. 40, I think.

Relationship Status: Never married, no kids

Occupation: Runs a private rehab center for court-ordered offenders

Length of Date: 1 hour

What We Did: Met for coffee at this super high-profile coffee place. I like going there because there are always big time deals going down there, etc. Great place to people watch. Come to think of it, it would probably be a fantastic place to meet people. Anyway. I was late getting there (our date was @ 10am!) because of an accident on the highway close to my place, and I wasn’t even excited about the whole thing, so it didn’t bother me to be 12 minutes late. Selfish me!!

He Wore: Nice striped shirt, jeans, loafers

I Wore: Okay, this will show you how much I didn’t really even CARE about this date. I wore a simple little black knit summer dress. Now mind you, it’s something that I simply throw on and go. A lot. In fact, it needed to be washed in the worst way. Quite embarrassing. I almost wore rubber flip-flops with it, but I ended up wearing my same-ol, same-ol gold sandals. And I did wear my [KK] necklace that I love so much (props to Kelly!), which is the only cute thing about my outfit. OH, but I will say that my hair looked fantastic, even though I drove with the top down part of the way until the sky opened up directly above me and started POURING!! I had to pull over and put the top up, making me even more late!

First Impressions: He’s tall. I’ll give him that.

Convo: .But here’s where it got interesting. I thought he was a total nerd at first, but when he started talking very passionately about helping people and his counseling practice, etc. I was completely endeared. He seems to be a really nice, involved, and active guy. I quickly changed my tune about him after talking with him for a while. I was happy to meet him. Funny thing: he goes to my church! I don’t ever see him because I prefer to go to the small chapel service on Sundays and he goes to the “big” church.

High Point: Actually enjoying the conversation and warming up to him

Low Point: After a while, though, I started to feel like he was analyzing me! And I didn’t get a good read on him. He ended the date quickly, telling me he had a group session to lead, and I didn’t get a sense that he wanted to see me again.

How It Ended: He ended the conversation abruptly, shook my hand and thanked me for meeting him.

Chances I’ll See Him Again: Not sure. If he asks me out again, I’ll go. But the vibe at the end was so strange…damn psycho analysts!
