PIC OF THE DAY!

Today’s photo prompt is MESSAGES. Hm. Does anybody use a Rolodex anymore? Just another message to myself to go through this damn thing, pluck out the information that I need, and plug it into my iPhone and back it up on my computer. THEN I can make the necessary phone calls and leave the obligatory messages. *sigh* I have a ways to go, don’t I?

TODAY…

1. I’m thankful for the connections I made last night: (1) New designer AND the movie/TV/Vid producer!

2. Thankful that the bubbles last night were good. I mean, really delicious!

3. So happy that I get to hear my sweet kitty lying next to me…snoring! So cute! But I hope he didn’t catch my cold!

4. Thankful that I have a very fun night to look forward to with Cindy tonight!

5. So thankful that it will get me out of the house today (pathetic, but true).

Well, hello there, sweet OD!

I’ve noticed that I’m submitting these entries later and later lately. But again, I don’t really have a good schedule down. Grrrmmmppph. Need to change that.

Last night was a very, very fun time.

Actually started out in the afternoon with the bubbly sampling with CC. It was so much fun! I told you that CC is a HUGE wine collector, and he knew so many people last night that we got a little bit of special attention, and that was nice.

CC is truly a wine snob, and I guess that’s okay. But I think I was a little embarrassed that I always say that I adore *bubbly* and *sparkles* and then I don’t really have a lot of technical knowledge about the stuff to speak intelligently. Honestly, it’s not really a big deal. I don’t have an exacting palette as he does. And CC was very cool with my lack of knowledge, so I relaxed and just enjoyed. I actually loved giving him my opinion on the stuff, and he was really polite, telling me that my descriptions were very observant and right on the money! Heh.

Of course, my favorite Champagne of the evening ended up being a $180 bottle of vintage Dom Perignon. Quite shocking (and yet not), considering I simply adore my el-cheapo Crystalino. It’s been a long time since I’ve let Dom bubbles roll around on my tongue. CC hinted around that he had some verrrrrry special Champagne just waiting for a special occasion *wink*.

Hm. So yeah, CC was cool last night. Maybe that’s what the issue is. He’s too cucumbery cool. When we’re out and about he acts so much like my friend, and I LOVE that. But I also crave the little things that guys do when they’re into you. For example, his hand on my lower back (none of that), the little touches on the arm every now and then (nope), brushing my hair out of my eyes or face (uh-uh). It’s called affection, and he doesn’t have it. Sure, he’ll try to ram his tongue down my throat (granted, he’s only done that ONCE), but he doesn’t do any of the sweet stuff. As a matter of fact, on Tuesday night when we had dinner, I had to actually take his hands into my own while we were sitting across the table from each other.

I HATE to be the aggressor at the very beginning. It can only go downhill from there. I think.

On the other hand, he could be completely terrified of me.

Oh! And then a friend of his showed up. This guy was CC’s best friend, I think. When this guy showed up, CC seemed to show his age a little bit more for some reason. And here’s the funny part: the friend was extremely friendly with me and made conversation very, very easy. I find conversation a little forced with CC. Not with this guy at all! I’m not sure what it is. Could it be chemistry? See, I’m not attracted to this guy at all, but I just found our conversation very pleasing and fun

But enough about CC. We ended it early on (at 7) because my other party started then.

And that was such FUN! I was so happy that I went by myself because I got to talk to several different people…including someone I’d never met before, and he’s like a HUGE regular around here (and I didn’t even know it!). See, I went through the buffet line and sat down at a table with two guys I knew and then more and more people showed up and sat down with us. It was so much fun talking and laughing.

And then, this REALLY wild looking, kinda burly guy showed up and asked if he could sit next to me, and I was like, SURE!

He was hilarious and sweet and extremely eccentric, and we got to talking about work, etc. and I asked him what he does for a living. And that turned into a huge round of these fantastic stories of working on several projects for several touring rock bands and the local professional sports teams, etc. etc. which led us back to his office (which is in a studio in the building) and him showing me a whole bunch of SUPER COOL creative videos and plans and on and on…. which is completely up my alley!!

Long story, but we hit it off and I *might* be able to swing a couple of gigs out of this! I don’t know exactly how right now (stylist for one of his productions?? Consultant?), but it doesn’t hurt to talk with him. As a matter of fact, we were just talking on the phone before I started this entry. I’m also trying to hook him up with some production people that I know, and he’s really excited about that.

So there’s that.

And I also met another woman who’s new in the building and she has started a fashion line that….hmmmmm…I don’t know about, but anyway, we’ve made an appointment to get together on Monday to talk shop. That’s going to be interesting. If nothing else, I might be able to point her in another direction, and she may have some additional leads for me. We’ll see. Can’t hurt!

I also reconnected with a few other people I haven’t seen in a while, and that was nice. It prompted me to get back in touch.

Speaking of getting back in touch, I need to go. I have to get ready for this evening with Cindy. She’s been sick like I have and we both are ready to have a nice girls’ evening together. We’re going to dinner and then we’re going to some brand new CHOCOLATE place! I’m not really sure what that means…chocolate place. All I know is that it’s all about chocolate (duh). So, I’m really looking forward to my chocolate-covered evening.

Ohhh! So excited! Cindy just called and I was looking online for the restaurant where we want to go and found a flier for tonight’s events in the hood: A Jazzy Christmas! It’s going to be snazzy!

With that, I’m going to wish you a Happy Friday Evening and to all a good night!

xxoox!
