PIC OF THE DAY!

If it’s gonna be this cold, I’d rather be a snow ballerina.

TODAY…

1. Thankful for the really great council meeting and lunch afterward with my new friend Chris. He did a demo of his new app, and I completely enjoyed it.

2. Thankful that I start my new gig tomorrow! Kinda nervous too.

3. Surprised and thankful that I’ve been asked to be part of the crew on a new music video for a really cool musician!

4. Thankful for the hard and the soft of yoga tonight.

5. So thankful that I’m still very, very excited about the year ahead.

So it’s the first Monday of 2010, and it went quite well if I do say so myself.

Got up pretty early and yet still feel like I didn’t get up TOO early. Granted, I think I fell asleep around 10. Still, went to the coffee shop right after 8 to get my freebie and ran into Floral Studio AND Yoga Man AND Mr. Photo! It’s funny, the longer I stay in this building, the more I want to stay.

Came back to the loft and finished my morning emails in time to head out to my council meeting.

Meeting went well. Our group is dwindling now that people are slowly finding fabulous jobs. It’s actually a really great thing to have fewer and fewer members. It means that things are getting better.

After our meeting, my new friend Chris and I went to lunch so that he could demo the new app he created and is beta testing. I am now one of his guinea pigs. It’s a fun application, and I gave him my thoughts and some ideas. I could tell it made him happy. I’m happy I could help.

During council meeting, I got a bunch of texts and phone calls.

One of them was from Video Guy (the guy who runs a production company in my loft). He was asking me for some information for some off-site studio options where I have connections (from old job). Reason? He’s shooting a video on Thursday of a musician whose name you would recognize, fo sho. VERY famous hip hop artist. Fun!

Unfortunately, though my connections were still valid, the venue didn’t pan out.

Still, I made my way back to his studio after my lunch and we shot the shit for a while. We are still looking for ways that we can work together, and then he mentioned that he’s going to be shooting another video for a musician I adore on January 16th, so I have now finagled myself a spot on the CREW! Tee Hee!

AND! He is working on a project with another artist I loooovvvveeee, and I think that if I can weasel my way into doing a fabulous job on the first video project, I may just be able to work on a super cool Christmas special starring a true, true music LEGEND!

So excited about the possibilities of these opportunities. Gotta figure out how to let my light shine while performing what I think are going to be simple peon tasks. Still, doesn’t hurt to have an in with the big dog.

Tomorrow is the first day of my non-profit gig. I’m so excited about that too–especially since Arthur is so happy to have me there. I can’t wait to start helping him build his brand and vision. I’m also excited to help develop a portion of the curriculum for the girls who benefit from his program.

AND! Tomorrow night is the BIG, HOT DATE with CC. Funny, I think he’s downplaying it now since he’s made such a big deal out of it in the last few days.

He’s a tricky one, that CC. I think he’s struggling with some aspects of divorced life that hadn’t plagued him before. His ex-wife is giving him a hard time about custody, visitation, etc. and I think this may be the first time she’s ever come down really hard. I need to find out more info, but I think that they both are still struggling with the huge change in identities they each have had to make in the last couple of years.

Not really my business until it becomes my business. I’ll listen to his woes to a point (and trust me, he hasn’t whined at all), but I am certainly not going to give my opinion beyond simple answers at this juncture. I think he just wants a bit of a sounding board, and he’s been really, really patient with me with regards to the tidbits I’ve told him about EXMS. He did say some incredibly sweet things to me on the phone tonight.

Bottom line, it’s all good. We are playing our GREAT DATE by ear because I’m not totally sure when I’ll be finishing up at the studio.

Lastly, I did more yoga tonight. I am falling in love with the Monday night classes. Yoga Man and I are coming to an understanding, and I feel much more respect than I did earlier. I think he sees that I’m serious about wanting to actually benefit from his classes rather than play around…even though I do goof around a bit, that’s simply part of my personality.

Every single time I emerge from that sticky-hot studio I feel more and more alive. It feels strangely like healing to me. I don’t want to get all touchy-feely up in here, but damn, that stuff is simply soothing to me. After my shower I wind waaaaay down and it feels like I’ve had an incredibly relaxing massage. I can’t get over how much I love this feeling.

Okay. Stopping point. It’s time for bed. I want to be super fresh in the morning. Tomorrow’s going to be another incredible day, I can feel it!

XOXO and MORE!
