Yesterday:
My dad forwarded me an email from my brother, titled “Pictures of You and Mom”. In the forward, dad said that it’s full of pretty personal information but that my bro probably wouldn’t mind him sharing with me. The gist of the email is that my brother has decided that Amy, his Chinese girlfriend is The One and that he’s going to have to figure out how to get married in China. He’s nervous about meeting her parents, and it was funny – his fiancee has requested photos of my mom and dad so that she can see what they look like. I found it charming and sweet.
To answer your question, [CN], my brother and I are completely different in looks (no, he does not have red hair..it’s brown) and mannerisms. In fact, I don’t think there could be siblings more different than we are. I have written entries about him before, and I’m sure I’ll write much more as more wedding details come to light, but we are not close. We have our moments, but we just never really gelled as siblings who talk to each other on a daily basis or got really chummy with each other. I have many theories about this…
Regardless, we are emailing each other occasionally, and I’m VERY happy and excited for him! Stay tuned…
Today:
I have an INTERVIEW for a brand, new position today! Actually, I will be interviewing with four different people at different times. My first one is today and then the rest (3 more) on Monday. Yikes! I’m nervous and excited all at the same time. I hope, hope, hope I can work this out because I’m ready for a change.
The scary thing is, this new position would be a LOT of work. But! It will also give me a lot of exposure. And that could be good, but it also could be bad, you know? It would pull me out of the woodwork and into the spotlight for the ENTIRE company (there is only ONE position like this in the whole company!). But then again, you know I love the attention.
We’ll see how this first one goes…it’s with someone I’m not particularly enamoured with, but she just got a promotion and would be my boss’s boss if I should get this job.
Please wish me luck!
Tomorrow:
Headed out of town for a weekend of wedding events! SP’s best friend’s daughter is getting married. I adore this girl (actually LOVE this couple!) and it’s going to be quite the shindig. SP is going to be an usher due to the breakup of a wedding party couple (this is a BIG deal) and he’s going to escort the MOB to her seat. Sweet. I may be working the guestbook or some odd task as well, and that’s cool. I’m excited that we get to attend the rehearsal dinner! I believe that this marriage is going to be one of the very, very good ones. They are quite lucky to have found each other! I’m sure the weekend events will stir some conversation between SP and me, so you can count on me coming back with thoughts. I have some thoughts right now as a matter of fact, but I need to go get ready for this interview…
Love!
