damn u polter-cow 😛 According to the brain-wave Matrix in Arthur’s head, at least, the question is “What do you get if you multiply six by nine?” but there was some question as to whether this was the right answer, because of the cavemen dying out and the telephone sanitisers populating the Earth instead. Yup. Using Scrabble tiles and a blindfold (to introduce a random element), Arthur got the question “What do you get when you multiply 6 by 9?”.
He was later asked if the joke is that 6×9 in base 13 does indeed equal 42. The joke is that the question makes no sense with the answer.
