We do. Eighty-two (82F) today. I started my now daily lie by the pool time at a little before noon. By 2pm the sun was getting brutal. Such a good feeling! Then my Sunday shave and shower. And then I finished my afternoon nap at home with the windows open. Right now with the windows open it is 76.5 in here. (No A/C until 80 degrees inside.) The nights are already starting to warm up into the mid to high fifties.
I’m planning a mission for tomorrow. I ran out of cannabis a couple days ago. Today I scrubbed the bong clean. My last purchase was Nov. 12. A half ounce for $19, for 19% THC. That was also the last time I’ve ventured outside the park. Hopefully I’ll find the same deal next time.
Daughter has been doing well since moving to St. Louis. She’s found a spa for now with enough hours and she’s been driving for Uber. She says she can make at least $100 every time she goes out for a couple of hours. Grandson is also doing well. Growing like a weed.
I tallied the past years grocery costs. A comparison: 2024 was $1587 or an average of $30.51 per week. 2025 was $1599 or an average of $30.75 per week. So, whatever the fuck I’m doing seems to be working.
Oh, I’m also paying $15 per delivery approximately every two weeks, that’s included in the numbers above.
My homeowners insurance was cancelled. My agent is looking for another policy for me. Last year the fuckers nearly doubled it from not quite $400 per year to $793 per year. We’ll see what my agent finds. If too expensive I’ll just go without. Even if this place burns down (knock on wood!) the lot is worth nearly a hundred grand. (Don’t worry, I’ve plenty of fire extinguishers!)
I’m also looking for cheaper internet. When I first got Starlink ($120 per month) there was only one provider way out here. And it was as expensive and total shit. Now there’s several fiber providers and they’re getting cheaper, but not cheap enough yet.
Last months electric bill was $55. They average it with some special formula every so often. And it costs more to run the heat than the A/C. Because it’s resistance heat, the most expensive there is. But for a couple of months each Spring and Fall I don’t need either one.
So, OD is shutting down again. Should I ask for my $100 refund, again? What a joke.
Okay folks, Be sure your “papers” are in order and watch out for those goofy fascist cos-players!
