After days of getting over a dodgy tummy we took an exciting New Years Day trip to the B&M discount store and I found the holy grail!
A £1 kids art pad with pages so thin, that at last, I had a sketchbook I wouldn’t fret over ‘wasting’!
I could finally trial ideas or doodle or free flow without feeling like I had to get it right. It was so liberating!
Shapes! I'll do shapes!
Draw e.g. 15 identical circles on the page and turn each one into a different doodle. Then do 15 squares, triangles, hexagons, ovals, semi-circles, etc etc!
And I'm loving it. Doodling in my pad has become my new go-to for instilling calm. It feels so good, so peaceful.
I've done over 130 mini doodles since the year started and it's all thanks to a cheap kids art pad. So here's to a much more creative and mentally calmer 2026.
